In terms of longevity of fuel is it better to get a Diesel vehicle as doesnt Diesel store longer than Petrol(Gasoline)

In the event of the power going out I have a petrol generator,(am thinking I should get a dual purpose one) and a solar set up.

But I am budgeting for a more rural style of life absent all the mod cons of life(except a small refrigerator of some sort)

Diesel is not a terrible option if you are in an area where that is commonly used and if it isn’t too cold. Diesel can gel up which can be a big problem. In general for most folks I think gasoline is a better option as it is just more commonly available and most people are setup to run on gas. But there is nothing wrong with going with diesel if you want.

Cheers.

I'm just trying to think about alternatives.

Petrol will soon run out and if diesel lasts longer, might be worth stacking that.

Wasnt aware of its gel'ing issue. Thanks for the heads up.

Ultimately I'm budgeting for far lower power usage.

Was contemplating an E-Bike for transport as can charge that off solar panels.

Wood/gas to cook.
